Justin Steinbach
What was your program of study at Riverland? When did you attend?
Industrial maintenance and mechanics (IMMR) 2018-2020
What is your career/job now?
Industrial maintenance technician at Viracon, Owatonna, mn
How did the program help you prepare for the career you are in now?
Although I have always considered myself as one that has a high mechanical aptitude, I learned many new technical things from boiler operations, hydraulics, and PLC’s that have help me in my daily work as a maintenance technician.
What are some of the positive outcomes of attending Riverland?
Learning many new technical things that I didn’t have knowledge of before the program. Also building friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime.
What would you tell others who may be considering Riverland for their education?
Do not hesitate! The country needs more and more people to work the technical fields whether its mechanical, electrical, construction, automotive, the list goes on and on. These are rewarding jobs that are in high demand, pay well right from the start!
Was there a faculty or staff person who made an impact on you while you attended Riverland?
It wouldn’t be fair for me to single out one staff member that had an impact on me more than another one. I feel that all of them, from administration to the teachers were all amazing and even the cafeteria workers! Oh and the breakfast is really good!
