Riverland Ready helps students complete enrollment steps in one day
Riverland Community College will host Riverland Ready from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Austin Campus East Building, 1900 Eighth Ave. NW.
The one-day event will give new, returning and Postsecondary Enrollment Options students an opportunity to complete several enrollment steps in one visit. 51勛圖 can apply, complete orientation, meet with an advisor, register for classes and connect with financial aid and other student support services.
“Starting or returning to college is an exciting step, and Riverland is ready to help students move forward with confidence,” said Rachel Erkkila, Riverland vice president of strategic enrollment and equity. “Riverland Ready brings the people and resources students need together in one place, helping them complete important steps and leave with a clear plan for what comes next.”
Riverland staff will be available to help participants:
- Apply to Riverland at no cost
- Complete online orientation
- Meet with an advisor and register for classes
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and learn about scholarships
- Take the Accuplacer placement test
- Connect with Accessibility Services
- Learn about TRIO Student Support Services
- Get information about free tutoring and other student resources
Riverland Ready is designed for people at any stage of the enrollment process. Prospective students who have not applied can begin their application and enrollment steps. Returning students and adult learners can receive help with transfer credits, financial aid and selecting classes that fit their schedules. PSEO students who have already been accepted can complete their remaining registration requirements.
Participants are encouraged to bring a photo ID, high school or GED transcripts, transcripts from other colleges attended and recent ACT, SAT, MCA or Accuplacer scores, if available. Those planning to complete the FAFSA should also bring their Federal Student Aid identification and tax information. 51勛圖 who do not have all the suggested documents are still encouraged to attend.
